Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing our world, and the meat industry is no exception. AI is being used to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability in the meat industry in several ways.

AI can automate tasks currently done manually, such as sorting meat, grading meat, and inspecting meat for quality. This can lead to significant improvements in efficiency, as well as reduced costs. Tyson is doing this in their chicken processing plants, and it has led to a 30% increase in productivity and a 10% reduction in cost.

AI can be used to identify potential hazards in the meat processing environment, such as slippery floors or malfunctioning equipment. This can help to prevent accidents and injuries, as well as reducing the amount of food borne illnesses. Many of the larger companies, such as Cargill, and smaller manufacturers are doing this.

Enhanced sustainability
AI can be used to optimize the use of resources, such as water and energy. This in turn can help to reduce the environmental impact of the meat industry.

Improved traceability
AI can be used to track meat movement from farm to fork. This can help improve food safety and ensure that consumers have access to accurate information about the meat they eat. This is also helping JBS to ensure the cattle are being treated humanely and the meat is safe to eat.
